Ok. Sure buy ya 7 or 8 of them. I tried a demo and liked it, a Lot..
And in the end, that's really all that matters. Ironically, this thread started, not because LRS has a poor product, but because there appeared to be an [isolated?] incident of poor customer service. For every customer there are varying levels of tolerance. For me, my tolerance level is in direct proportion to my like/dislike of the product. If you make a generally shitty product, expect my tolerance level to be pretty low; however, if you make a great product [like IMO LRS], I'm more willing to take the good with the bad.
On line ordering is a crap shoot. Things happen people have no control over. Small businesses usually operate on a small profit margin and may not have the funding to stock pile large quantities of material. Comparing prices with other shield manufactures their cost seems very reasonable. It is possible the shipping dates given were dependent on materials being delivered to them as promised so the shields could actually be made and shipped. I'm picturing a madhouse trying to get everything to those who ordered on time. It would it seem though that calls or emails could have been made more accurate for awaiting customers. Sometimes you're the windshield and sometimes you're the bug!
I'm not so sure that lead time is so unusual on a made to order product. I just ordered a few shields from Freedom Shields and it took longer than what I thought it would. But I have learned long ago, never order something and expect it to be there in time for a trip. Just order it and put it on when it shows.
Fwiw, the folks at Freedom Shields are awesome. You can speak with the owner (I assume) on the phone and go over the specifics. He went out of his way to send me multiple shields to try them out, knowing I would send 2 of them back. Bear in mind, these are made to order so he doesn't have a guarantee of selling what I ordered to someone else. The shields themselves are second to none in quality. NIce and thick (no shake) and the edges polished.
I looked at LRS but they have too many options like wtf is the difference between elite and special etc etc. Too many choices with not enough explanation of difference between them. ive tried to contact them for this info with no luck. Bought a cheapie on amazon and Im happy with it
