Default Question

Hello all, looking for some help or info I guess. Lol

My 2015 Road Glide has a plastic cap over a hole or knockout in the center of the rear fender just under the tail light. Anyone know what the hell its for?

My 09 streetglide had one too.

Anyway mine fell off and it looks as though it just had 2 way tape holding it on, I seem to recall the one on the streetglide kinda moved around a bit as though it were a pressure fit or push in type thing. This one is just flat, doesn't seem to have anything that fits into the hole.

Is it broken? What is it even for? Can't even tell whats in the hole, maybe a mounting bolt for the fender?

Thanks all

Go here - http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche....DER%20-%20REAR

It would be helpful if you titled your threads with something more useful than "Question". Plus, it might help in the future if someone is looking for the same thing.

On my 2018 FLHXS, that plug is affixed with double sided tape. I don't have a brake/tail light on the fender, but the plug is just under the license plate on domestic models.

I think HD uses the same fender for all Touring models. Maybe another model (police?) runs wires, with a grommet through that hole.

As GalvTexGuy mentioned, a more detailed title results in more replys. Pics help too.

That hole is for the rear fender tip light, which your model does not use, but could be added, if you don't want to add a fender tip light, just go to the parts store and buy some 3M double sided tape and put the emblem back on, just be sure to get all of the old tape off and clean both surfaces with rubbing alcohol first.

Thanks guys.

I'm guessing it's the stud that holds that fender tip light in place, just weird because there is nothing that can be accessed through it. I actually installed a custom dynamics tip light a few weeks ago but again all access is from under the fender. There must be some other model like a police bike that uses the hole I guess.

It is just double sided tape so I'll just stick it back on no big deal.

It's not a hole for a stud, it's where the connector for the factory light goes through that hole, the factory fender tip lights also use 2 smaller studs on them, so the fender would have to have those 2 smalls holes drilled for a factory light, unlike the custom dynamics light which is 2 sided taped on.

There is both a hole which is for the wiring for the brake/turn signals to run through and a Stud which is for the bottom fender bracket.
Hard to tell which he is talking about, but if it's the stud indention, yeah, just cover it back up with some new tape on the plastic cap. It is usually covered by a license plate anyway.

I believe the OP has a Canadian bike. Different rear lighting compared to domestic. Apples to oranges, unless the OP provides a pic.

My bad, I should have provide a pic!

Its the bottom one I'm talking about, thanks for the pic lp

Mine is a Canadian bike, we have a tail light on ours so the upper hole is covered, the lower hole has a plastic cap stuck over it.

The damn hole just makes no sense! Lol
