Default Rear fender light question.

I was messing with the tail light on my '05 Fat Boy and I noticed there is a junction block behind the light that everything plugs in to. I see one plug is empty. Is that unused plug where a person would plug a fender light into? If so, I'm pretty sure I have found something I want to install. After all, lots of light in the a$$ end of a motorcycle is always a good thing. At least IMHO it it. So my question is this..... what year fender tip light will plug into that receptacle? Does it have to be from a Softail, or can I use one from a touring bike? If so, what years. The research I have done this far shows any light from a 2000-2008 touring bike will plug in, and all I would need to do is drill 2 holes in the fender to mount it. Does this sound correct? Please give me some input so I can order the right part. Its probably pointless to even go to a dealer since those retards will just say Fat Boys don't have rear fender lights so we can't get you one. Please advise.

So come on guys. Your gonna leave me hangin' here? With all the Softail experts on this forum, no one knows if a touring light will work on a Softail?

I'd think if fender measurements match it would work. As for the plug a test light or multi meter would be your best bet to see if it has power if not, a simple splice into the running light wire would work.

It might be a universal part that they also use on the touring bikes then it would have a different function for that line but I could be talking out my *** again?

Thanks guys. Yes, the empty receptacle does in fact have power when the key is turned on. My concern is whether the 2000-2008 touring light will plug into that Softail junction block. If it will, then its a simple plug and play. If not, then I have to find the right plug or start soldering wires. Which is fine, but I would prefer the easy way if possible. I am already drilling holes in the fender to mount the light, so if I can get one with the correct plug I would rather just avoid the hassle.

Benway, a pic would be great. The light part numbers all seemed to switch in 2009, so if it fits yours, I suspect it will fit and plug into my '05.
