Harley clutch packs will stick when cold, and won't budge even with the clutch pulled. Is the green neutral light on when you try to move it? Has it ever moved freely in neutral? Did you just buy it?
I’ve had the bike since 2015 when I got it brand new. My ex rode the Hell out of it and admitted to shifting hard. Like every time prior I could put it in neutral, and walk it back out of my garage. Yes green light is on and I’m able to start it only in neutral

Yes I’m a woman. A single mom and a Dialysis registered nurse. I lift weights and have strong legs. I didn’t have any problems backing out of my garage before, or picking it up by myself 😉

Yeah I can ride it no problem but the moment I need to back up it’s like it stops at a very specific point. Nobody seems to know and I don’t really have the cash to take it in. I really don’t want it to sit through the whole bike season

I have to have it in neutral to start the bike so I figured it was legit in neutral

I never had a problem before. Also had a man come over and push on it while I tried going and it stopped as if brakes were put on. It’s making me wonder if I lost my mind. P.S. Very funny but yes I lift heavy weights and I’m very strong 💪🏼

The jack is a great idea especially to have a look under the bike to see what is hanging up the back wheel. Sounds like something may be getting hung up in the spoke.

Make sure the belt is not snagging on something. The belt will track to the inside when rolled backwards and walk to the outside when rolled forward. This is normal when the belt is adjusted correctly, so give that a look. Could be rock or something else caught up by the transmission too. Unless the trans has some damaged parts inside i don't see what else could be doing this. Maybe some bent or broken parts internally allowing the gears to walk into to each other when it rolled backwards and lockup.

So just to be 100% clear: you say you have to be in neutral to start the bike. Odd, as that’s an EU requirement. All my US Harley’s will start in gear. Anyway, you can get into neutral, motor off - flip the ignition on a and look for the green N - but don’t start the bike. With no clutch lever, confirm you can roll it forward no problem, but if you try and roll backwards it stops. Is that what is happening? Please try that if you haven’t.
