I bought a recurve from them and I’ve been very happy with it..think it’s the shortest one they offer in dark tint ,and at the time
I caught a sale price around $35.00 maybe...anyway it was so cheap I figured if it wasn’t the right one I’d toss it and not be out to much

I agree John is great and Freddom shield is a great value. I got a 7” dark smoke for my ‘18 SGS. It is thicker, and easier to take on and off than my HD wind splitter. It also works better on the highway. I still like the windsplitter look though. Since windshields are so easy to change out I use the Windsplitter day to day locally, and install the Freedom Shield for longer trips. I got a 3/8 socket driver, (screwdriver type - not easy to find), on Amazon and a single Torx Head, (whatever number it is), and keep it handy. Windshield can be changed in two minutes.

Note: got a Klockwerks prior to the Freedom Shield. It looked like an interesting design and had some good reviews. Did not like it. Seemed thin and flimsy, and made the fairing seem like it was wobbling on the highway. No return postage. Thanks Amazon!

I have a 13” on my 2017 RGU, medium gray, touring. John was excellent to work with, and everything they say about the thickness and quality of his product is true. On my Road King, on a long trip, I wore ear plugs to eliminate the headaches from constant wind noise. Now I don’t need them. I tried a Windsplitter, and like the earlier post, it just didn’t get the job done on long trips. Always felt wind (and cold) on my biceps/shoulders. Not with this touring style Freedom.

The quality of Freedom Shields is second to none. Thickness, the quality of the glass, the cuts, finish, and polished edges too.

I bought a few of the other brand whom I won't mention, and I noticed where the curve was on top caused a blurry look when looking through it, and also down close to the bottom it was blurry there too.

You get what you pay for in this world of ours, try one, you won't regret it.

I've tried LRS, Clearview, Klockwerks, HD Windsplitter and finally got a 8in Light Smoke Freedom Shields, couldn't be happier with the Freedom Shields, thicker, better quality and priced really reasonable!

You need to call John at Freedom. However, I have an LRS 9" and I would guess it is around 1" lower than the Freedom. As far as tint goes Freedom's dark is close to LRS dark.

Tp,

I used this method when a bought my Clearview, however, it applies for any shield. If you have your LRS 9" on now, use the link below and hold your finger horizontal 1" above the shield and look to see if you can spot the object.

Same for me. Though LRS shields are cheap, other then LRS and Freedom both make windshields, the Freedom shield has no similarities to the LRS. It's in a different league all its own.
