You can purchase a new license for the FP3 to use on another bike. Not cheap, but cheaper than buying a new one.
I would verify this with V&H. When I bought my FP3, granted it's been about 2-3 years ago, the FP3 married to the VIN and new licenses or transfer to another bike was not an option.
my opinion for the bolt on bikes like 95% of us all have , pipes, breather, slip-ons the FP3 is the best , its so user friendly . as previously mentioned Cheyne at VH is first class customer service .
as always others believe their purchase was the best , whatever brand they bought .
Thinking of getting this so I trust a couple opinions at my dealer. Wow they have gone full HD! Power Commander is what I think they said they are using. The only problem I have with FP3 is I have the problem of buying new bikes all the time. I really want to do some stuff to this new 114. I've got slip on's looking at intakes. Going to core the head pipe till I can afford a new headpipe. Eventually I'll do a torque kit on the engine.
The dealer told me they have had a lot (no number) customers come in with non running bad running bikes with the FP3. Pulled them and problem solved. Kinda makes me wonder if these people were changing things they should not.
My dealer has a nice dyno so I'm hoping even if I get the FP3 I can get it tuned there.
I've had three FP3's cause you can't move them that sucks. So I'm a little hesitant but I really like some of the options you get with the FP3. I'm no tuner, but enjoy doing my own maintenance an learning as much as I can.
I know at least 10 people running a FP 3. including myself, and have never heard anyone's bike not running good yet, Dealer is full of it, imo
For a single bike, the FP3 is extremely user friendly. If you're wanting a tuner to use on multiple bikes, the Power Vision will let you purchase multiple licenses. Many dyno tuners use them. They charge you for the license, tune the bike, and flash the ECM. I am using the FP3 on my 16 Ultra, and have seen no ill effects, other than the cold stumble while running autotune.
