Beard Buffeting.........
Read quit a few threads about helmet buffeting and to by honest, I don't care so much if my helmet bounces around a bit. I'm in the wind! That's why I'm not in the cage. But I am getting tired of my beard beating the crap out of my face. I was going to put fork fangs on my 03 RKC but didn't want to ruin the 100 Anniversary nostalgic look, so I just wear a beard band. (Hair band stolen from the wife). But I was really hoping the fairing on my new to me 14 SGS would have blocked the wind a bit more so my beard isn't pushed up from the bottom and beating my nose and cheeks up so bad. The beard band works when I ride the SGS too, but I'm wondering if any of you bearded fellers out there have tried these HD adjustable air deflectors https://www.harley-davidson.com/stor...air-deflectors on your fairing and do they really work. Reviews on the HD site are mixed. What about the mix of these AND the fork fangs? Or fork fangs only? Thoughts and experiences?

i have the adjustable air deflectors and the one that goes on the forks underneath.. about the only difference is the fork deflector keeps the water droplets from coming up the tank and into face during a rain.. i don't have the fangs.. i find that just tying a bandanna around my neck holds the beard fine.. but it depends on how long it is..

My beard blows up and I have those wind deflectors and fangs. Beard isn't so bad but my mustache blows hair up into my nose and tickles, makes me crazy. It's just one of those things I have learned to live with. Do you open up the fairing vent that is supposed to create a dead air space.

Different bike, but on my Road Glide I found the best method was to use the helmet strap to tuck my beard under my chin. Didn't need anything extra to lose and did a fine job.

Doesn’t anybody just ride anymore with out worry about everything...Beard Buffeting really!!! Either cut it short or spit on your hand and a comb and it’ll look fine

So, I had to go back and reread my post to make sure that I hadn't accidentally asked people to submit smart *** answers that didn't have anything to do with my question. It's just a question bro! Looking for a little input from those that have a beard, a Street Glide, and the HD air deflectors. Don't get all worked up. If you don't have anything constructive to say about this topic, don't. And considering that it's still early in the morning, why don't you take this time to go pour yourself a big old cup of "***** Off". Unless of course you're the topic police and get to choose which topics people get to ask questions about. And if that's the case, then by all means go pour yourself a great big cup of "Have a great day officer!" I guess you must be bored living your retirement dream! Go for a ride man... ..

On a motorcycle your beard blows upwards. It doesn’t make sense and is annoying, but your only options are to put it in pirate ponytails or put it under your chinstrap. Another possibility is to get rid of it like I did; a graying beard and red bike look too North Polish for me (and I like soup)

I do the same thing with my beard, wrap it up in a hair elastic thing. I have an 03 RKC also. I took the fork fangs off in the summer, and never bothered to put them back on, I don't think they made a difference.
What did make a difference though was the deflector 'pan' thing that mounts in front of the tank, kind of like this one.
It seems to help a little with the airflow coming up over the tank and into your face.
