So I installed the latest software update (1.22.02) last evening. I tried the gps two times today and both times I had to go into the settings and turn on the voice prompts. Apparently the latest software didn't fix all the problems. ugh!

Sounds odd, because the bug I am aware of could not be fixed with the settings, the settings were right all along.
But I don't know, I haven't had a chance to ride since I did the update.
With the old version of software I was unable to get the voice prompts to work by changing settings but now it seems the voice prompt setting in the setup keeps defaulting to off when I restart the bike.

When I was experiencing a similar issue when I got my 2018 Limited, I read somewhere to turn the Ignition to accessory while preparing to ride. This has worked for me.

Assuming this is true, this is an improvement but not a fix. This would mean that there was more than 1 bug, but they fixed only one.

I'm running version 1.20.1 in my '14 FLHTK. It's been the best version for booting w/o glitches. The NAV prompts work as they should. I've tried all later versions except the Jan2019 release (1.22.0.2) & keep going back to 1.20.1 because I have almost no issues with it.
Good, it's not just me! The GPS lady works when she wants to, about 5-10% of the time, maybe. I've unchecked her just because it's annoying as all hell to get used to it not working then all the sudden "Make a U-turn" repeats 10,000 times because I'm taking a route that I know about that apparently she doesn't.
I'll try updating and see if this newest version works.
Mine has only worked at random since new, when it works, it's great, but rare, or like stated above, rerouting . ,Coming up to a turn, or corner, doesn't prompt anything till through intersection, so it isn't volume controls I wish it worked better, it would be great, cuz when it does, i really like it, Haven't done an update in a while, maybe i'll try that
... With the latest software update (1.22.02) my GPS audio has been working 100% since I’ve had it downloaded 2 weeks ago.
I hope the GPS bugs are all gone.
Not so for me.
I went for my first real ride today, since the first week of January (It was clear and the temperature ranged from 55° to 59° in NJ while I was out.. I was in heaven).
But the prompts cut out the same way they usually, or at least most often, do for me. I stopped to take a picture while in the middle of a "trip" loaded from GPX file on USB. When I started the bike back up, The nav. systems resumes my trip perfectly (e.g., between the 4th and 5th waypoints) but no prompts. I turned the bike off again 15 minutes later, but this time (now between the 6th and 7th waypoints) the prompts are back. I never adjusted my "prompt volume" during the ride; it was correct the whole time.
Here's the picture.
