Default Micro Connectors on Hand Controls - San Diego Bar Install

Hey All,

Anyone know if the 2014 Road Kings have the micro connectors or are they regular gigantor ones? Reason I ask, is that I will be installing Lucky Dave's San Diego bars on my 2014 Road King and want to know if I should research pulling the large connectors apart or I can slip the small ones straight through. I have seen the small connectors online, in videos, and I hope that is my situation as well.

The 2014's and 15's have the larger connectors.

Trust me I have done it both ways.

The best and safest way is to de-pin the connectors. It takes a little time, but goes through the bars much easier and less chance of damage.

Good luck

I can tell you with 1 1/4” bars and micro connectors, changing bars on my new ride was a breeze. Old bars off and new bars rewired in under 1/2 hr.

Thnx a bunch. I'll have to Google how to de-pin the connectors.

I put 1.25" bars on my bike an ran the switch wiring inside. The throttle wires go in from the center of the bars an the switch wires go in from the holes by the grips an out the center of the bars. that green connector for the throttle twist sensor is easy to break. I broke a wire in mine an had to cut it out an hard wire it. I've never had any luck taking the connectors apart an putting them back together, seems I always break a wire, but if you do it you can run all the wires on the throttle side at once. I made sure I got bars that would work with the factory length wires an brake/clutch lines.
