My take is any of the 14 up Touring lines are Rushmores.

The 1st gen Rushmore had little to do with engine options, as the SG and RG had air cooled 103's. The 14-16 Limited and RGU came wethead.

The Rushmore platform gave you larger front suspension, redesigned fairing with vent, double din radios, and one touch saddlebags.

The 17 up Touring line still has those niceties but comes with the M8 drivetrain. Still the Limited and RGU (now RGL) is liquid assisted cooling.

MOCO fix to avoid the primary from sucking oil out of the trans on the M8's was to drill a hole in the back of the primary and install a rubber VENT tube. So now it suck air in from the street into the primary, great!

Just wondered if someone in authority had an answer.

It is whatever you want it to be. For me the best Rushmore feature was the one handed open and close saddlebags,

Does not get better than that.

Back in the day we used bungee cords to secure saddlebag lids.
It doesn’t depend...
All bikes from 2014 to current have the Rushmore improvements, regardless of the engine.

Ride on
