Default quick release lighting TP and bags

Not a mechanic, but mechanically inclined. 2016 ultra limited. Installed quick release for tour pack. Followed instructions with kit related to the added lighting on the bags. Installed per the instructions the bag lights and brake lamp work. The way the instructions indicate...have to disconnect the harness from bag lights and reconnect TP lights to get TP lights to work...but when installing the TP...I want the lights on both the TP and bags to work.

If I ignore the instructions and following logic attach one end of the installed quick release light harness from the TP feed to the bag lights and the other end to the TP lighting connection I get both working as well as the brake lamp. Eureka. But the way the harness is assembled....the connection to the TP lights will not reach if the harness is installed the way the instructions indicate to the battery hold down hinge pin . Temped to just leave it hooked up the way I have it and leave the harness laying on top of the battery cover.

Do they make an extension for the 6 pin connection to allow the harness to be installed where the instructions intend and still allow it to reach back far enough to plug into the TP lights?

I can cut and add in length to each wire...but seems ridiculous.

What am I doing wrong / missing?

Many thanks!

I didn't have that problem when I installed the lights on my '14 Limited. Yeah, there's not a whole lot of slack in the cables for the bags, but it can be done. Did you route and connect the wires from the bags to the harness before you secured them to the frame? You're only going to have a little bit of slack in the connector for the bags.

Edit - Never mind. I see you got it figured out.
