I have a 2015 Limited with stock 10" windshield, and for 81,000 miles, it has been perfect riding with my 3/4 Arai helmet..
I just bought a Bell SRT Modular full face helmet, and rode it on Saturday at highway speeds, and it is so noisy I can barely hear my music. So the new helmet is either taller or is affected by the airflow around my head.
I was looking at maybe getting the 10" Freedom Shield with the flared tip which according to their website, effectively gives me about a 2" height increase without increasing the height of the windshield as I like to see over the top.
Has anyone else had this problem and how did you solve it?.
Don't be so fast to blame the windshield there can be a lot of difference in the noise level between helments.
The flip usually has the effect of 2 to 3 inches taller shield. Looking through the flip area is not as clear or distortion free as a regular shield.

Since I now look over the windshield, adding the same height flip windshield would still be below my eyesight, but divert the air up over my helmet. What am I missing? The reviews by Revzilla on the SRT Modular indicated it was a quiet helmet. Maybe something is loose inside the helmet, will take a look at that.
Found the source of the noise in my Bell SRT Modular helmet. It was the sun shade that was rattling around inside the shell. I pulled it out and rode with it yesterday, and it was quiet like I expected it to be. Now I will have to determine whether it was installed incorrectly or if it is defective.
