Hello- I've got a 2014 Ultra limited that has started having FOB recognition issues. The situation is that one the bike is shut off and the security system activates if you turn the ignition on it will not initiate power or recognize the FOB. I have changed the FOB batteries and validated that they are inserted correctly and I have replaced the security antenna all to no avail. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing the bike not to recognize the FOB? I can use my PIN and the bike starts and runs as expected. Thank you!
Changed any lighting out to LED? or anything else on the bike or in the garage? Only thing I can think go is interference from something. Is the bike wanting you to enter a code? Both FOBS?
Maybe roll it out away from everything to eliminate any interference from lighting, phones, etc... to eliminate possibilities.
The issue actually starts on the road and I used the PIN to get home thinking it was theFOB batteries, both have been changed still no dice. I just pulled the main fuse to see if something needs reset maybe???

My 15 did the same thing a month or so ago. What i did was to keep the fob away from the bike and install a new battery in it and i pulled the main fuse for about 1/2 hour. Popped the fuse back in and it started working as designed. Don't know why or how but it did. I have rode it many times since then without any problems.
I pulled the main battery this morning and I'm going to have it tested as well. I really don't think it is the culprit as the bike will start and multimeter is showing >12.6 volts at rest but figured it's worth a test. I pulled the main fuse again overnight just be sure and added fresh batt's to the FOBS still no go without entering the pin. Could it be the main security module????
TIA
12.6 VDC is a little on the low side , 13.4 ~ 13.6 is more common for a healthy battery , that said it doesn't seem significant enough to be the issue. I would try re-seating your HFSM ( FOB / Security module) antenna connector under your seat , do you have the optional siren ? If so the battery for the siren may need to be replaced since it's connected to the security module . Image from 2014 Touring service manual . . . .

Thank you for the pic! I replaced the security antenna. Is there info on how to reset it? I have not been able to find any.
TIA

If that's the case, I've never had a healthy battery, even new. 12.7 is the highest resting voltage I've typically seen, even on the new deep cycle trolling battery I just bought.
I agree, seen 12.7'ish resting (bike off not on a charger) normal, 13.x with vehicle running and getting some juice from alternator (or a charger if its not running).
The BCM is the "main" security module... then the antenna, the fobs, and a siren if installed.
Weird that both fobs quit working at the same time. Pulling the main fuse for a bit is the first thing...
It there's a siren, unplug it while the system is not armed (just to take it out of the equation to test), then see if your problem is fixed. Don't think it will have any effect though.
That leaves BCM, FOBs, Antenna... and harnesses. The antenna that you replaced just plugs in... no reset/programming required.
There's a whole host of testing procedures to detect which of those 3 pieces, or a broke wire are the culprit... but its gonna require a break out box.
If you don't have access to the computer software to do diagnostics or verify programming (Diag3Bike/TechnoResearch), I'd just take it to the dealer and have them verify that your fobs are still programmed into the BCM... if so, then maybe they have a used fob laying around to swap out with one of yours, just to see if it works, then program yours back in and see if it works then... to try to verify/eliminate them as the culprit(s). Because if the FOBs are good I think you're down to the BCM, unless its a harness/connection issue. Luckily its just not working period instead of being intermittent.
Are you getting any codes, or are you able to even check for codes?
