Thats odd. The kill switch is on the RH control and the high beam switch is on the LH control. 😬
First ride, coming off of a Venture for 26 years, other than bringing it home and didn't make our destination before dark...couldn't find it on the left and was trying both sides to feel for the switches and just accidentally toggled it, but turned it right back on. Point being, if they were lit...would have been no problem. But I knew someone would mention it...
Harleys have always had the hi beam switch on the opposite side from the kill switch...
If you need to look down to see the switches, you need more practice riding your motorcycle.
It was dark...nothing to look down at. Totally new bike to me...basically first ride and most of the controls in a different location than what i was used to...but whatever!
Guess ya had to be there!
You do not need to add lighted switches to add the press to transmit/squelch button.
You only need to replace the right side switch module, there is an standard type module available.
Well Sir - you might be right - but I tried to find it to no avail. Others here also tried. What we noticed if the controls that work on the 20s - do not work on the 21s and above. As a result, we have to move to the lighted switches.
Now, if you have a part number that would be very helpful for others that ae trying to add the push to talk.
Are you saying that you were able to add the push to talk switch to your 22 - just the right side?

Years ago it was almost as cheap to replace both with lighted as it was to buy just one side of OEM.
I added them to my 22 FLHT, part # 71500629. Of course I have extra buttons that are useless to me, but I can see when I need to. I ordered and tried to use 71500248C first, but the left side wouldn't work at all.
