2016 CVO Ultra Limnited
I Put in a new Stator and compensator and am in the process reinstalling all the components. FSM says to put in the adjuster plate with the nut facing out, and then adjust clutch. Here's the problem its a hydraulic clutch and does not have an adjuster nut. The plate will not go in far enough to get the nap ring in the groove. Do I need to open the clutch mater cylinder to relieve the pressure to push the rod back into main shaft enough? Oh and I checked the CVO supplement manual and its states that there is no unique content for this model.
Push on the plate really hard and the rod will push into the slave enough to get that snap ring in. You either have to be fast with the snap ring, or have an extra set of hands.
Do I understand correctly that the snap ring retains the center plate in the clutch hub? If that is what you are talking about I don't understand the suggestion made above, seems to me he must be talking about the slave cylinder. Wouldn't be the first time I have mis-understood someone's description.

The arrow points to the snap ring I'm talking about.
It retains the release bearing and release plate shown as items 1 & 4 in the diagram below.
That is the snap ring I understood you to be talking about, but now I can see if that plate gets pushed on, the rod will push against the slave cylinder and perhaps retract it enough to allow the snap ring to be installed. That certainly does look like a job for four hands. I don't have a hydraulic clutch so I will stop even making guesses, good luck.
The slave will collapse enough to push the rod in and install the snap ring. As said, sometimes another set of hands helps. It can be done alone..... if you swear enough!
I got it and it wasn't that bad actually. Just put a large socket on an extension and push hard enough it went back in the shaft and I was able to put the snap ring in no problem. It did not spring back out at all. Pretty simple actually once I realized I just had tp push harder on the plate.
