Impeller wheel
New info.....
As I originally wrote, now that I have a brand new set of replacement impeller wheels which are polished aluminum where my stock wheels have chrome, stored in my basement with a new set of USA made American Elite tires ready to be installed I looked fo a way to "seal" the polished aluminum from oxidation, corrosion and the need to continuously polish.
I was recommended a metal sealing product by EVERBRITE COATINGS. (btw they have fantastic customer service over the phone)
Yesterday I began applying it carefully to one side of each wheel on the polished surfaces with a small foam brush. It went on very easily and is "self-leveling" so no brush marks are left once it dries and cures.
A small 4 oz jar was about $28, so it isn't cheap but goes a very long way and easily does my 2 wheels with more than half of the stuff remaining. IF it eliminates the need to constant cleaning and polishing the bare polished aluminum I'll be thrilled. All of the testimonials tend to be extremely favorable over the long term, so I'm hoping for good results too.
