My son had a similar situation with a car wheel. A wheel shop told him the metal is weakened each time it is flexed. If the bend bothers you, perhaps having it straightened should also. I would be tempted to start checking on Ebay, Amazon, and local dealers for clean removals for after market wheels. You say that wheel runs smoothly, have you jacked it off the floor and spun it ti look for a hop or wobble? That might make the decision easier if either problem is revealed. A smack like that could well have broken cords in the tire sidewall. Since you recently replaced the tire, that is no longer a possible failure point.

Wasn't able to get hold of my indy mech yesterday but will follow up with him Monday. See if he knows a guy

God it's so annoying how expensive motorcycle wheels are.

I guess I always thought a bent wheel would have more of a crease or a hard line to it. This isn't even pushed inwards towards the center, it's like someone took their thumb and just kinda rolled it a bit.

I'll be riding still but definitely checking it regularly.

It's amazing just how strong these wheels are, and yet just how fragile they become with just the right bump in the road.

Fix it or replace it. Safety first.

I hit a PA pothole and took out both rims. The dealer said the rear needs replaced as well. I agree with them as I'd rather not chance an issue.

As much as I hate paying 3K for wheels and tires , it sure beats a blowout or sudden pressure loss at speed.

Amazing you were able to stay on the bike, much less keep it upright. That must have about jarred the kidneys out of you!

I said I don't know who my guardian angel is while I ride but they work OT when I ride apparently. I say that because I was rear ended at highway speed on an interstate on my way to vacation back in July.

@DeadShort Now that's a bent wheel! Good Lord man.

Any decent aftermarket options for bronze wheels? Everything I've seen so far is crazy expensive. I'm not sure I'd trust a used eBay wheel anymore than I trust my current ones

When I've bent my front wheel on the 22 RG no shop wanted to touch it, I guess it was due to liability, so I've heated the area with a torch and beat the **** out of it with the sledge hammer It didn't leak and balanced fine but it wasn't as bad as 1st picture in DeadShort's post
