Did you do the steel or aluminum shocks? I have been a dealer of theres for years now installed over 100 kits and can tell you the ride difference is very noticeable. They spent a lot of time on valving and rebound settings on the aluminum shocks
To be honest?...I asked my dealer/installer if I should go with the steel or aluminum version and what the difference is between the two (other than possible long term corrosion resistance) that justifies a $500 premium for the aluminum version and he told me..."Nothing, except the KOTB fans like that the aluminum version shocks are a couple pounds lighter"...and then he followed up with advising me that I just go with what he usually recommends which is if you're going to throw money at upgrading anything to upgrade the switch and switch location by going with a console mounted toggle switch ($175 and he put in a double toggle in case I want to go center stand or front air down the road) instead of the bobo switch that comes with the kit which is in a sucky location. So?...no...he never mentioned anything about upgraded valving or rebound damping on the alum version to me but it seems his recommendation is like "the local go to house favorite package" as I have several riding buds that went before me and got the same (except a couple of them added the $800 center stand). On his behalf though?...I will mention that this is in Florida...the land of checkerboard square, straight, flat long roads so?...and also?...I did tell him that I'm a retired old guy on a fixed income so there's that to but I will admit and say this...
If he had mentioned the valving and rebound damping performance upgrades contained within the aluminum version shocks?....I'd be $500 poorer right now! LOL! (that just the way I am lol) and?...I think the fact that I have suspension technologies front fork cartridges hides a lot of what I may not have shock wise because I'm so happy with what I have right now I'm hard pressed to believe that I'd notice any huge differences in valving and if I want more rebound damping?...I'll just load more crap in my stretched bags lol...but seriously...I believe you it's just that I think I'd have to be living someplace with way more curves and elevation changes to recognize the benefits of the aluminum versions on a daily basis but thanks for the info I never got but I know this...the way my bike is suspended right now?...there's not a doubt in my mind that it can outride me.
Sorry....a simple "No, I got the steel bobo ones" would've suffices. right? lol (us danged retires guys spend way to many words)
