I have just hooked up my Iphone4 to my usb lead and started to play around with the phone and text features (receives texts but wont send them back, but that's another story) upon ringing myself from the wife's phone I declined the call and the sound of the music went off, the track was still playing but there was no sound, I couldnt figure a way to get it back so I uncoupled the cable, plugged it back the sound came back, kept trying it, accepting and declining calls and after each call the music went off, a couple of times it came up with message "playback stopped" and only the ignition off and on again would reset it? anyone else have this?? software up to date 1.17.4

Had similar issue. When I made a call using voice recognition feature it brought up 2 names with same last names because it didn't understand first name I said (nothing unusual about it doing that) however, it got the system stuck in prompts and it wouldn't allow me to play music, use voice recognition, or use CB. Had to shutoff bike & restart it to get it to work again. This has happened 2 times in the last 2 weeks. Only started to happen after I installed update 1.17.4. I guess this is another glitch with the new update.
Picking up my '14 SG Thursday and I haven't had a chance to play around with my iPhone 5 on the infotainment yet. Does the bike play music off the phone like its a hard drive when it's plugged in to the USB cable? I asked the salesman if it did, and he kept saying yeah I can sync the phone and use Bluetooth. I don't think he knew what I was asking. And can you make it so when the phone is hooked up, nothing interrupts the music? Like an "ignore all" option?
sixshooter - not sure about the ignore feature - but I do know the bike will ply your music off of your phone or ipod.
Suggestion - if you are not going to use the phone, why not simply use a USB flash drive - copy the music from your phone.
Well I'm relatively OCD about my phone and I always have it on a charger. Just wondered if I could have it plugged to charge without interrupting my tunes if it rings.

If using Bluetooth you have the options of synicing music and or phone. When you plug iPhone into USB, I do not think you get to choose.
I use a cheep USB flash drive for music, lock my iPhone in the tour pack and keep it charged there via 12v receptical. I do not care to be distracted by any phone or texting when riding. The phone and texting messages will be there when I stop.

Smart Man,my kinda rider, yes it'll be there when you stopwish more riders had that mindset.
Another option: if you're not wanting to be disturbed by calls or texts, but still want to have your iPhone plugged in, charging, and playing music (either direct plug in or via Bluetooth,) you can just go into Settings and set the iPhone to Airplane Mode. You won't get any calls, texts, or be able to do anything else that requires a signal from your carrier, but you can play music.
