Probably cos you can charge it at the same time??

I only have the problem with the music if I'm playing tunes off the iphone whilst it's its plugged in to the USB. If I'm bluetoothing or using a USB stick (as we call them over here) or my ipod nano(the very old first generation) I get music back on straight after a call, strange eh?

Another reason I prefer to plug it in vs Bluetooth is because you don't get access to playlist and such when using the Bluetooth function. You can go into your phone and select a playlist and the Bluetooth it to the phone but your stuck in that playlist until you pull the phone out and change it. With the phone plugged in you can switch from one play list to the other right on the radio just like if you had an iPod plugged in. This is the sole reason I bought a new iPod to keep plugged in. I like being able to switch from a classic rock play list to,a country play list to a pop playlist quickly. That way I can find AC/DC quickly without searching through 500 songs.

Yep, I keep my iPhone 5 plugged in via USB. That way it IS an iPod. The HD system allows full iPod control, playlists, etc.

Using "iTunes Match", my iPhone has access to every song in my iTunes collection regardless of how much space I have on the iPhone. No need for USB sticks, other iPods ...
