Default 2014 Rushmore High OP

What exactly makes the new Rushmore 103's high out put? Other than the higher flo air intake what makes it any different than a standard 103. Did they put a different cam in the Rushmores? And if the new air intake is a higher flowing system, why would you need to swap it out when doing a stage 1. Wouldn't maybe replacing stock air cleaner with a K&N be enough?

Have asked these questions at the dealership but haven't gotten any real concrete answers, so I thought I would come here and ask the experts. Any ideas?

Wow the dealership doesn't know??
Get a new dealer quick
Rushmore engines have a more aggressive cam check out HD website
The new AC flows more air and is probably OK for stage1

The cam's in the new 103 are different than previous 103's
2013 cams Lift int/exh .484/484 dur @.053 int/exh 198/220
2014 cams Lift int/exh .484/484 dur @.053 int/exh 213/233
SE-255 cams Lift int/exh .556/556 dur @.053 int/exh 211/235

As for the A/C, there currently is not a K&N replacement element for the new style cleaner. The current element certainly ads more air than previous models but will still be restrictive when doing an exhaust and tuner for stage 1

Compression is higher also, thus the need for 93 octane fuel.

93 octane?? I'm pretty sure my'14 owners manual still says 91 is fine. What page is that on?? Don't really need the 91 in the colder weather, the 91 shows up more for warm weather riding. I"ve run 89 quite a bit with no issues in the colder weather. No Pinging

to me 91 is high octane. 87 is regular here in the lone star state.

We have 93 around here but many places don't.
