I'm on my fourth H-D and have always read about and had friends that had trouble with puking oil out the breather. Most of my previous rides were modified also but never had this problem. My 14 Limited is filling the bottom of the air filter every thousand miles. Gonna do the bypass on this one so now I guess it will mark its spot when parked. Haven't seen any other comments about the newer bikes doing this so I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem ?
Had the bike dynoed about 1,200 miles ago but had noticed that the tune seemed to change and I was smelling fuel on decel. Took it back to check and found the filter full of oil. Same as when he tuned it the first time with a little over 1000 miles on it.
Every Bike I have owned with stage 1 air cleaner will drip oil from air cleaner when outside temperature in 80's or after long hot ride.Just have to clean it every 5000 miles or more often when hot out.I tried K&N(not harley K&N) stage 1 on 2012 limited, still drips.I am not going to go to stage 1 on 2014 to see if stock will drip.Just exhaust and enrichner.
This is a common issue and everyone seems to have a different cure.Running engine oil lower than recommended.Tried that, still drips.Dumb idea, would You run Your car with lower engine oil?
Others have breather modifications.Definitely a breather issue and oil is supposed to burn off rather than accumulate in filter. So I will try stock air cleaner, should have an answer to that by July.lol
