Thanks guys...but I still remain unclear as to whether or not the hard wired Intercom works between Passenger and Rider on the Ultra CLASSIC..with the 4.3........for sure it works on the Limited.
Well, on the website for this bike it says the the rider/passenger intercom is standard, (See Communication subsection Infotainment) and the 4.3 is also standard. Therefore it should work. However, you only get one headset, same as the Limited.
No it does NOT say it has a CB on the web site, only presets, but 3 or more guys here that have Limiteds have posted that they do have a CB on the bike from the factory yet guys are still asking if it has a CB. a CB is a CB, it may be used for bike to bike communication but don't know that its ever been marketed that way. Darn, you can actually talk to anyone that also has a CB on a bike, in a car, in a truck in a boat whatever. It has one
It surely used to have a CB as standard equipment, but this discussion arose because a few new owners did not get one as standard. A review of the Harley website now makes no mention of it as they did in the past.
My Ultra Limited, which I just got aday or two ago, has 2 antennas, and I know for a fact that it has CB functionality. My Boom Box owners manual indicates that the 4.3 radio can accept an add on CB, but specifically states that CB is standard on the Ultra Limited.
Maybe I can check the build date on my bike if someone can tell me how to find that.
The Boom Box manual does get a bit confusing on what models do and do not come with CB standard, depends on the bike model and where it is sold. Easy to get confused unless you are a technoid dweeb like me.

If I am not mistaken, Nuages has a '14 FLHX that came with a 4.3 radio. He is adding rider and passenger communication/intercom plugs to his system and was having some difficulty getting the intercom to work properly (some of this info was contained in another post). I think he is just looking for someone who has a 4.3 (probably on a Ultra Classic) that can confirm that the rider/passenger intercom works. IIRC he had been told that it was due to the 4.3 radio that the intercom could not be added and made to work in the same way that it works on the Ultra Classic & Limited. See post below for more info.

I have the Ultra Classic. As I said earlier, it does indeed have an intercom. It works. Wife and I have used it several times. I can't speak for a Steetglide. I just don't understand how he can't be clear when his original question has been answered at least twice.
jt
jt, I think you have to read the other posts to understand his problem. Nuages and another member were trying to install intercom ports on models that did not have them. They both were experiencing difficulty getting the intercom to work. They both were given different answers as to why they could not get the intercom to work. One dealer said it was the 4.3 radio and another said it was the bike model. If you have the 4.3 radio and a fully functioning intercom then YOU answered his question. Now he can ask his dealer why the intercom cannot function the same way on his bike. Thank you.
Many THANKS 14GuineaPig.....you have stated the problem exactly. Harleyjth, you are the first person with a 2014 Rushmore Classic to give an answer, based on experience of using the Intercom. The website and catalogues say all sorts of things, but none are clear or provide a definitive description of what each bike has as stock, or as to what can be added. The dealers give conflicting answers too. So a big THANK YOU harleyjth. This should mean that providing I have all the right switches and harnesses the Intercom should be fully functional....UNLESS ....as NCBondsman has been told ...that there is no FLHX radio flash to enable the rear headset speakers. Then I will be left with the passenger hearing all the rider says and the rider having to press the PTT for the passenger to use the CB radio.....still a small price to pay to get at least some functionality.
Thanks again and happy n safe riding
