Default RAM Mount

Is anyone using a RAM Handlebar Rail Mount on a Street Glide? They make a mirror post base for the mirror hole but not for the newer models that have the hydraulic reservoir but I have emailed the company to see if that is in the works. In the mean time, I need something to mount my phone on so I can use the GPS.

Here is the one that I am looking at:

Amazon.com: RAM Handlebar Rail Mount with Zinc Coated U-Bolt Base and Universal X-Grip(TM) Cell Phone Holder: Car Electronics Amazon.com: RAM Handlebar Rail Mount with Zinc Coated U-Bolt Base and Universal X-Grip(TM) Cell Phone Holder: Car Electronics

Just wondering if anyone has used this and if they can post pics of it.

I'm not using the mount your asking about but do have several RAM ***** mounted on the bike including a mirror post mount. The others are the type that mount to the controls. I found that if I used the u-bolt mounts I was blocking the infotainment display.

I just realized that I can take the one from my VTX that is for sale, I never listed it as part of the deal. I will try to figure out how to mount it so its not blocking anything.

Rocket,

Did you have the same setup as in your Amazon link on the VTX? I was thinking about getting the X-Grip for mine (I already have the U bolt ball and extender, so no need for the whole kit), but have concerns about a several hundred dollar phone hitting the pavement while riding.

How did your phone do in the mount on the VTX?

The x-mount is great, no worries about phone coming loose. There is a video of one on a dirt bike jumping with an iphone and it doesn't move.

I have them mounted off the controls... The left side I also use a cup holder, I had the GpPro on in this shot.

Thanks for the pic, that is exactly what I was going to do. I just need it for the occasional GPS use but will probably end up using it for my music apps too instead of having the phone in my pocket. It fits in the cubby but barely and I have to jam it in there when it does fit. Going to put the foam back in and just use it for something else.
