Since MPG is based on odometer rather than speedometer, a better method would be to compare odometer to mile markers on the highway (say 5 or 10 miles to get better accuracy than just a single mile).
Yes, but the mph and odometer are a single unit so if one is off so is the other. By correcting one or the other it should in theory make them both correct.
At this time the speedo or mph is the only unit that can be corrected thru programing.
Really????? Gas mileage is the last of my concerns when buying a new Harley. The only thing that matters is the number of miles you can travel between fillups while on the open road. Fuel ECONOMY is not a factor.

You DO care about distance between fillups.
Yet you DO NOT care about fuel economy.

Those were my thoughts too Frog. It's not like fuel economy is directly related to miles per tank or anything right?
The difference between 38MPH and 42MPH calculates to 24 miles. That can mean the difference between making it to the gas pump, or having a long walk to one.
