Do you have the breakdown for the bike with all the fees and taxes?

That is only 13.7% off msrp, its not like you did much better. I don't know what the OP paid before tt&l but betting he got close to the same percentage.

But, whatever.

I think he was referring to the price HE paid was before TT&L. Don't worry, you did good. I saw my sales person at a bar and she said they were still taking about the deal I worked on the SG with abs and it was similar to your deal as far as msrp to otd price. Plus, the SGS is the best seller, harder to negotiate.

You guys that come here bragging about "steal of a deal" out the door prices need to start telling everyone where you bought from. Some of these deals are just too hard to believe. If you're getting prices like that then show us the paperwork. Nuff said!

Yeah, that. Until then it's just words on the interweb.

Why do I owe to you, or anyone else for that matter, the burden of scanning documents, blacking out my personal info, and then posting it to this website? Believe what you want to believe. Personally, it makes me feel that much better about the deal that I got when people start to question my honesty over what I paid. I came here for an opinion, not to brag.

I learned a few years back, when I first started investing in real estate, that if you're not embarrassed when you present your first offer, then you've offered too much. I was not prepared to buy a bike that day (not financially speaking, just time constraints and other projects going on right now). My plan was to wait until August or September to purchase, but I happened to be going to a place right down the street from the dealership this past Saturday and thought, what the hell, I'll go make a ridiculously low offer and if they bite, I'll do it now. My first offer was 20k, out the door, which I knew would never be accepted. However, that let them know where I stood. I wasn't going to pay MSRP or anywhere near it. Well, just like I thought he would do, the salesman looked at me as if I just called his mother a *****. Then he came back with a breakdown of what they "normally" sell the bike for and it was somewhere around $26,600 (which I'm sure is total BS). Thus, the games began. Long story short, we ended up with $21,700 OTD. The dealership was closing and I had some things to do, so I went back the next day, signed the paperwork and drove it home.

Now, for those of you wanting me to post the dealer name. After I purchased the bike the salesman told me that he's been trying to buy a SGS and couldn't even get that deal because the dealership didn't want to set a precedent with their employee pricing and he asked me not to tell anyone about the deal I got. This was after I posted on this site. Is he full of it? Possibly, but he's retired military and came off as a pretty good guy, so I'm going to honor his request and not mention it. I don't want to **** anyone off and screw myself out of a good deal on my next bike. With that said, I'm sure that it would take about ten seconds to figure it out yourself if you pay attention to details.

One other tip. I got pre-approved for a loan before I went to the dealership and had the credit union check in hand, so I'm sure that helped to let them know that I was not screwing around. My credit union is at 5.5% right now, and I offered to let the dealer see if they could beat them and they came back at 3.99% through Eaglemark.

To the poster who asked about the breakdown, I will be happy to post the numbers here, but it will probably be tomorrow. Starting a long work day and the paperwork's at home.
