Dealership's working w/you to correct their mistake, but aren't you partially to blame for not checking VIN against docs...?? I always double-check VIN before signing, doesn't anyone else? Guess it's just me being ****-attentive...
I bet it is the same model...or it would show up when buying insurance?
When I bought my Trike the dealer gave me a Vin of a street glide and the insurance couldn't find the bike in their data....Dealer called me back with correct VIn. Probably a employee would rest easier if you just made it right.
Hap
During the after sale process where your signing all the paper work, most dealers will have you sign one where you promise to come back to make any corrections in either money calculations or written. In other words you have already signed a contract to do just that, so your lucky to get some free T shirts or what ever else you can get out of them for your time.
Really kind of confused regarding the issue here....
it was a mistake by the dealer.....not even a big one. Seems to be a more common error.
This exact same thing happened to me years ago when I got a Ford.
The reason I didn't check the VIN is the dealer was closing and we were all in a hurry and the next day I found out the error after calling insurance company.
Now I always check the VIN even if the salesman chuckle at me...
My issue was corrected within 24 hours.
Not sure where your going with this...you signed the paperwork regarding the bike that you have in your possession.
Its a binding contract...im sure that in the contract they have an "error" or "omission" type clause.
