This is not another thread about why I can not pair a bluetooth headset with my 2014 Street Glide. I purchased the Sena 20s and am one of the few that have actually received it. I am wondering if anyone else has some tips with utilizing a headset paired the phone, and still having the phone plugged into the infotainment system. So far it would seem that when you attempt to make a call, the infotainment system attempts to take over the call which leads to the party on the other line unable to hear you.
Perfect world scenario...I would be able to connect the phone to the infotainment and play music from it then take phone calls to the headset. My guess is that this is not possible, and I will need to use a MP3 player instead and keep my phone unpaired.
mmm... if I understand you have the phone physically plugged into the infotainment system via USB connector. Perhaps for music? or just for the charging? The phone function is through connection via bluetooth only I believe. So the infotainment center is hijacking the bluetooth connection to the phone. Can you just unpair the phone/infotainment system bluetooth connection?
I have the Harley wired head phones in my helmet. I have an old IPOD connected via the usb and the iPhone paired to the infotainment. I can make or receive a call via blue tooth, (the phone is physical in my right bag) and listen to the music from the iphone or IPOD thru the wired headset.
Here is my alternative answer: You can use bluetooth connection to the phone FOR MUSIC ONLY by doing the following: Home, Setup, Bluetooth Setup (Bluetooth should be checked), List paired devices (This menu should list your phone by name with 2 icons - A phone headset and 2musical notes, both filled in with orange ), Choose your phone, Click Disconnect phone, Back (now Your phone is listed with ONLY the music notes in orange.) Home

Plug your phone in to the infotainment system via USB. Do not pair it via Bluetooth. You'll then be able to play music via USB and use the Sena for all phone functions via Bluetooth.
Thanks for the ideas. My battery life on the phone is horrible. So yes, I was hopeful to have it plugged in to charge. When I tried not to plug it in, either I didn't give it adequate time to sync or it is unable to download my album information. I couldn't search for a new artist etc...
I will play with MriMan's suggestion. Sounds interesting. I wasn't aware of a limitation feature on the bluetooth set up.
