Amsoil Severe gear is what I find makes the shifting smooth as butter...What does removing the rear shift lever have to do with finding neutral ? Mine seems to be ok but there are times that it isn't easy. One of of ten tries it is lost and I can't find it.

I always shift into first gear, then use my heel to half tap down to find neutral. I find this works most times
That's my technique and I have not had any problem. I changed to red line to and notice no difference going to neutral. I want to think bike shifts a little smoother with red line but I was of the opinion that over all the 14 bike shifted good from the start.
I have had 5 Harleys, I have run Amsoil 20W50 in all 3 hole in every one of them and have never had a problem with finding neutral in any of them. I also do away with the heel shifter .
