The rear headset volume is adjusted from the rear volume control. To do this, the option for rear controls on/off must be set to on in the setup menu. Using the intercom menu, the dual bargragh display shows where the rear volume is set; if the passenger headset volume is off or too low, the lower bargraph will show this. Adjust accordingly (set to same level as rider headset). If this doesn't fix the issue, swap headsets front & rear. If problem is now in front, replace/repair bad headset. If problem is still in rear, see dealer for warranty repair.
I am having an issue with the intercom. Sometimes the Push To Talk button quits working. I can use the voice activated mode but the PTT front and rear quit working. If I stop an turn the bike off for a few minutes then restart it works again??? Has anybody else had an isssue with the PTT buttons? The volume thing is kinda confusing... If the Intercom is active the volume controls affect the intercom and not the radio. If the Intercom is not active then it controls the radio... Same with the prompt s... If the Nav Prompt is active the volume control changes the prompt level... So you have to be aware what mode you are in when you hit the volume button... For example, Your girl starts talking but you didn't quite hear her... by this time the radio has come back on so you try to turn it down, in the mean time she has hit her PTT button again so you end up turning down the Intercom volume down and you don't hear her... So she start's tapping your helmet??? Arggggg!
Pretty sure the Intercom is only VOX. The CB uses the PTT feature.

The PTT works for the CB and intercom. I leave the VOX all the way down and use the PTT so wind and exhaust noise doesn't activate it. Just be aware if your CB is turned on everything you say will go out over the CB. I keep my CB turned off so that's not an issue.
Sounds like OP has fixed his issue, but I will add to this w/ a few issues I've run into in case anyone else is troubleshooting. First, you need to make sure the plugs are seated in the receptacles properly. They can plug in and appear seated properly while in an incorrect position. The raised nubs on the male plug should face skyward for both rider and passenger. Easy enough, but on day one with the new bike I couldn't for the life of me figure out why I couldn't get the passenger headset to work. Had the plug rotated 90* in the wrong direction.
Second issue seems to be a bug in the system...at least on mine. I've noticed that when I shut down the bike at a rest stop if I leave my headset plugged in, CB comms won't work when I restart the bike. I've resorted to making sure I unplug my headset from the bike every time I shut down. Start bike, plug back in, works fine. Pretty weird but the solution is easy enough.
Finally, I can't get my wife to understand that she needs to SPEAK UP to engage the VOX. She insists on using her inside voice on the bike. I've pretty much given up and only use the headsets for CB when I ride w/ a group.
