I've been using an Garmin auto GPS for years w/o problems. Have read books that came with my 2014 Street Glide Special, did the on-line tutorial, which was no more helpful than the book. Can anyone tell me how to delete an address in the GPS? Also, how to store with a name rather than an address. I am planning an 9 hour trip with stops and it is difficult to remember what each address is. Can I store it with a given name? How? Any help would be appreciated.

Default try this...

Found this on another thread. Credit to emu309.

=============
I have seen several posting requesting info on how to save locations on the GPS. Since Harley hasn't provide instructions there has been a lot of confusion. Somehow or another I stumbled across a process that works for me and decided to share.

1. Select WHERE TO on navigation home screen
2. Select ADDRESS
3. INSERT ADDRESS and select OK
4. You will hear "the route is being calculated"
5. Select the MENU BOX
6. Scroll down to SAVE
7. Select SAVE
8. When screen changes select SAVED
9. Screen will change to "save destination in address book, yes or no"
10. Select YES
11. Enter name screen will appear
12. Type name
13. Select OK
14. Select EXIT

This may sound complicated but it really is not. To verify that the location is saved:

1. Go to the navigation home screen
2. Select WHERE TO
3. Select SAVED
4. Scroll down and your location will be there

I was also able to save a location by using the navigation home screen and dragging to the desired address. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to write down the instructions.

==============

There are many GPS related threads in the Rushmore forum. Do a search and you'll come up with a lot of complaints and a few solutions. I was a Garmin user and understand your frustration. It's the one thing on my '14 Limited that's not up to par.

its a little tricky and ya its not a garmin. For me the goofyness is that you have to be like stopped for awhile to enter address's etc..... not that anyone could actually do it while riding but mine seems to go inbetween thinking its going and stopped so its tricky. I usually will just do it with the bike in accessory mode engine off type thing. My escalade is the same way but on it I am able to bypass the "nav in motion" thing with a device called a "locpick" and can enter address's while moving (actually the old lady does it) so that's kinda nice to not fight it. good luck with it and entering a bunch of address's before the trip is a great idea to speed up time and frustration. ride safe, paul

Some days you have to follow those instructions 2-3 times before the infotainment will accept the input and work. Keep that in mind.

This.

And it can be a pain in the ***.

While this isn't the worst system out there (I hated the GPS in my 2013 Cadillac SRX), it damn sure isn't the best.

Maybe Garmin is just too expensive to put in mass-produced vehicles.

I love Garmin....

I am new to the forum so to all who replied, thanks. It's good to know I'm not alone. The instructions for saving with a name are right on. Any input on how to delete?

Go to saved places and select the one you want to delete. It will calculate the route to it. Select the icon of 3 lines on the left, not the "go" on the right. There is an option in the list for delete.

If you can get it to highlight and not select, there is a trashcan in the middle of the up and down arrows on the right. You should be able to click that and delete that way too.

Seems like those 2 are context sensitive. I am trying to write this from memory.
