So I need to vent. I have a 14 SGS. I don't profess to having been riding my whole life or having only had Harleys my whole life. The fact is I haven't been riding that long and have had other brands of motorcycle before my first harley (road king classic).
In my limited experience I guess my vent is..what the eff is wrong with people? How is it that there are so many people that fine so many things to complain about these motorcycles? It is simply such a joy to ride and tweak and change and add to and again...ride that I simply cannot understand why so many have problems. The shocks hurt, the wind hurts, the seat hurts, the exhaust is to loud the exhaust is to quiet the radio stinks the navigation doesn't tell me I'm pretty and on and on and on. So even though I don't have 50 years of harley or riding experience..here's hoping that whatever it is that is bothering all you people works itself out and you can sit down and enjoy your ride. It certainly cannot be the bikes.
I really hate the name Rushmore, and it is too hot today, my feet hurt and my arms are getting shorter as I get older....or are they really printing stuff smaller than I remember, I forget.
No different than hanging around the local watering hole shooting the breeze. People talk about what they like, what they don't and how they fixed it. Lot's of good info and ideas get kicked around here based on someone's complaint. And some bitching too. Like I said, no different. This Limited is the best bike I've ever owned or ridden, and I've ridden a few. But it has had some minor hiccups that I resolved here.
tweak and change and add to? you are talking about a bike that is going to run in the upper 20's out the door--sometimes a lot more. some people think that a bike for that kind of money should be a lot better than what harley offers...you know things like performance and handling/suspension. a sound/gps system that has been up-dated several times and still has problems. it may be the best bike that harley has ever offered--but is that really saying a lot? everyone has an opinion, and the harley apologists are going to weigh in saying it is the greatest thing since sliced bread. it is better than the previous offerings.

Every product ever made has a service dept of some kind. Including very expensive stuff like the Space Shuttle, 777's etc. The "I paid this much so it should be perfect" is not reality. Just in the bike world read some BMW forums, same cost factor LOTS of problems. My personal favorite is for the entertainment system to work 100% on the K1600 series, you have to buy a $1600 or so helmet and BMW Bluetooth system.
