Hi all. I searched for bluetooth in this forum and got 0 results so I hope I'm not starting a duplicate. I've had this issue since I've had the bike (last October) and on the way to Sturgis yesterday it happened again. During the middle of a song, from my phone, it will stop and the screen will say "playback stopped". Since I had the time I tried going into settings with the intent of turning Bluetooth off then back on. When I got to the setup page, the whole screen was greyed out like Bluetooth wasn't on and I couldn't change anything. It always resets after I turn the switch off for a minute or two, but that's not feasible @ 80 mph. Anyone else seen this?
Mine will intermittently cut out,but comes back within a few seconds.Could do this once per song or twice per song.Sometimes works fine.Never lost it completely as You indicate.
No issues that I have noticed. Have you tried to clear the connection and then re-pair the phone to the bike when it is off, or do you get that blank screen regardless? Also try to do a full reboot on your phone, or battery pull if it is a Droid. Just curious, why not just plug it in via the USB port? I like the convenience of the bluetooth, but on the longer rides why not charge it at the same time? You're already on the road now, but you could also put everything on a flash drive when you get home and run it that way also.
I have had that happen many times. I have not figured out a way to cause it, it is completely random. The only thing that fixes it (for me) is to shut down the bike and restart.
Try pressing the power/mute button twice. I have it stop sometimes and not start back up when it is switching between radio/bluetooth and GPS prompts. What happens is the audio ends up getting muted. Pressing the mute button twice releases it.
If it is more persistent, I will switch to FM or maybe even WB and then back to the phone audio.
However ... what you describe about bluetooth being greyed out makes me wonder if your phone didn't loose the connection. I had a HTC phone last winter before I got my Samsung. It had problems staying connected to the HD Boom Infotainment via bluetooth. Your problem may be the phone and not the bike.
