Ok, I'll admit it. I'm not a night rider, along around 1800 I ready to kick back with a good Bourbon...but the other night the wife was out of town I got the itch to go for an evening cruise.
This was probably only the second time I've had the Limited out in full darkness but what struct me was the lack of headlight projection. Ya, I got older eyes, I'll admit it but anything over about 50mph and I was over-driving the light on low beam. High beam kicked it out to where I wanted it but it was pretty dim.
It seemed it was quite sufficient to get you home if caught out after dark, but I sure would not want to go a long distance with no more light than this stocker. And Ya, I have the passing light digital tech update so everything is on.
I came back and had a late night Bourbon...LOL

You just need to adjust the headlamp up a bit. There's plenty of light there if you do.
Tighten the top adjust screw in a bit and, as on mine, let out the lower right screw a touch for more adjustment.
These lamps really do work great once adjusted.

What he said. The manual says you can adjust the aim with a 5/32" ball end hex wrench without removing the trim ring, but I simply took the trim ring off & set out one evening on a dark road around my home with a wrench. I think I turned the top screw adjuster in 2-1/2 turns before I thought I had it where I wanted it. Didn't touch the side adjusters at all.
I think the MoCo is behind a little on this one. On my Yamaha RoyalStar Venture, which also had a single headlamp & fork mounted fairing, there was a **** on the inner fairing that adjusted the headlight aim. It makes sense, especially on a touring bike when you could be riding alone of fully loaded with a passenger on any given evening.
Strange. Has to be the adjustment. Those Daymaker projectors should have outstanding illumination in reference to distance. Probably the best out there. Compare them to the stock dual halogens on a SG and you will be impressed!
