Default Comparing Tour Packs

I have been looking at the Chopped Tour packs with the wrap around backrest for the wife. Probably get used 3-4 times a year but don't want to buy junk.
Have a vivid black 2016 Street glide Special and I am looking at 3 tour pack brands. HD is way out of line for everything at around 1400.00 so the options are-HogWorkz at around $600.00, Advanblack at around $900.00, or the eBay TCMT brand for $325.00.
Any thoughts on these three? Leaning towards Hogworkz with it being a know brand but wondering if for the little bit of use the TCMT may be fine?

I think your a bit high on the HD setup. I paid around 800 for mine (chopped, smaller backrest), that included the detachable mount too. Yours being Black may be even a bit cheaper (mine is Blackened Cheyenne) and possibly be able to find a used use and just get a new lock cylinder. The HD price is for a kit which includes most hardware.

I can't speak to the quality or anything to the ones you're looking at cause I have a HD King. But once you have one and you figure out how handy they are for space and what not you might use it more then you think. So I'd say get something that your comfortable with. Price and quality will be directly related.

HD price is just quick math from Harley website-chopped tourpack and mounting rack alone they want just over $1050.00 and looks like 2-3 hundred for wraparound backrest.

Use one of the 20% off places to figure out the price (you can get it much cheaper), and you can't put the wrap around back rest on an HD chopped tour pak unless you want to drill the holes.

Which ever route you go buy the harley brand backrest. My wife hated the wrap around that came with our chopped tourpack so we bought the harley brand and she is a happy rider

I bought the TCMT 14+ Saddlebags off of eBay for my wife's Heritage, and I am very happy with the quality. The only thing that was cheaply made is the locks, but I replaced them with keyed to match HD locksets.

I think you can find a better price than the $325 you posted for a chopped TP though. For the limited use you are planning, I would go the TCMT route.

Bought our chopped tour pack off ebay, can't remember who exactly, but not from a company in Rancho Cucamonga (another story). The one we finally got was perfect, came from northern Calif. I think. The paint was perfect. No dent in the middle of the top, from Chinese molding process. All was perfect, but the latch, junk. Local dealer had a take-off and problem solved. It looks great, works great, but it's not a Harley tour pack. The Harley tour pack is much stronger and as a result weighs twice as much. Pricing from on-line dealer for the Harley pack and accessories would have been $861.73, the cost off ebay with all accessories $279.00 + $50 Harley latch. Would have really like to have the Harley set-up, but just could not justify the extra $500+.

It's been on for a little over a year now and still like new. It was heavily packed for a Sturgis trip last year and it stays on all the time. So you can fine them on ebay, but it was hit and miss for us, two misses and one hit. We sent two back before we got one that was worth putting on our bike.
