Seriously, at least in Tampa anyway, it's like all they sold were Specials.
I like the Rushmore 103" lineage bikes, but I'm not a fan of extra bullshit bells and whistles. Whenever I'm tire-kicking I gravitate towards the base model bikes. This weekend I stopped in Brandon Harley and they had a looooooong line of baggers and tourers out front that had either a trunk, or were a damn Special...
In my area most dealer will only order the higher end bikes with the options that sell for them. When I was shopping for my first touring bike in 2012 I wanted a plain jane Electra Glide Classic, not the Ultra Classic, just old school looks. No dealers in the area had the model or had any coming. A dealer ordered me what I wanted with cruise and ABS options on the bare bones looking Classic I wanted.
Yes, my 2014 Road King was an ABS option bike, but that's it. I don't even know if there was an RKS in 2014. I had them swap the whitewalls for blackwalls before I picked it up.
A: OP asks questions. OP gets answers. Doesn't like answers. Rants.
Q: What is the purpose of an online forum?
hahhaha, right don't cheap out you want the ABS, and the other features are well worth he measly 2K, but yes you can order the bike anyway you want, I had to order mine for the color i wanted.
Yea, sure, not much difference OTHER THAN THE $2000 INCREASE IN PRICE on the back end?
I got a thing about paying for crap I don't want or need. Clearly I'm not preaching to the choir.
I believe along with the shocks there was the Boom 6.5 on the specials with pinstripe ABS and a few other differences. I looked at a regular SG verses the SGS and that was what I saw.

These and a gloss black painted inner fairing instead of the flat black molded and textured inner.
