I think that I accidentally let my last rear, the Elite, get low on air pressure and rode that way on my last two 200 mile or so high speed mountain rides. Low air pressure and high speed floor board scraping twisties cause the tires to get hotter than normal with the correct air pressure and wear even faster.

Have a 2019 Heritage Softail 114 and this is my first Harley. I would like to replace the stock windscreen due to helmet buffeting, particularly for my passenger (wife) at highway speeds, or pretty much anything over 60 mph. I have been looking at this option and they will allow me to return with a full refund as long as I do not remove the protective covering. Just looking for anyones thoughts on this solution: https://www.longrideshields.com/coll...12726683402323
Beyond the buffeting issue I absolutely love the bike. This is my first Harley and I could not be happier. Have always ridden liquid cooled Hondas and I shied away from Harley due to excessive vibration and heat management. Neither are an issues with the M8.
Love the ride, just looking for better wind management.
I had a recurve long ride shield on a Road King and really liked it. Good quality and recurve did raise the air pocket a bit which was nice as I like to look over my shield.
I’ve heard some report that fork deflectors (fangs) reduce buffeting the most vs. taller shields. Personally I prefer the wind, but that’s just personal to me.
I went with the Freedom Shields option. That way I could get the tinted upper with the blackout bottom. I ordered mine at 21 1/2" and it's at about nose level. I also have the fangs for the lower air control. The fangs helped some but the real fix was the shield.
Good point about Freedom and the blacked out portion. I think Long Ride offers this too, but worth checking. The black fangs look good. Some swear by the fangs, done swear by the shield. I guess having both you’re covered.

Can't agree with the above more. I like my 15" Freedom Shield... works great to flip the wind up and over my helmet. Just make sure you order the right size based on their instructions how to measure. I too, have the Fangs. Mine are the older kind that were originally sold for the 2017 deluxe and had to be modified to match the new mounting dimension, but they DO maje a difference. The new black ones are nice, but I actually nlike the chrome as they add a little more shiney mix to the blacked out bike.
I bought a Clearview windshield. They have the option of getting the bottom 1/2 black so it looks like stock. I also ordered the recurved shield. My issue with the stock is it's too tall for me, so I ordered 15". I was out riding yesterday on the highway and I didn't get any buffeting (could be cause it's so high for me). I actually missed having some wind cause it was HOT
Has anyone put a handlebar bag on the bike? I'm thinking about getting one just for easy access to things while I'm touring. I've ordered 2 from Amazon & sent them both back.
