i didnt know JES have two mounting options can you elaborate on this a bit more. Is one of these options align it closer to fork tubes? This space bothers me the most as far a look. Maybe some pictures?
Lately I installed LRS and it helped (as it always did in the past) but nothing like crazy improvement. I keep thinking about instillation of fangs but cant get over the look of it. I have to say one you have from RK look a bit better than JAS. Any chance you can throw some more pix maybe a bit closer and from different angles? Just curious and any chance you have PN?
To me, it's a hybrid cruiser/tourer. Can do both really well. But for anyone considering it, a highway test ride is a must before passing on a Touring model. In fact, I wish I had rented a Heritage for a weekend before deciding.
I love my Heritage naked (the bike not me...) on the backroads under 50mph but more than 30-45min on the highway 50mph+ with the windscreen on and I'm fatigued (and deaf) from the turbulence and that's WITH a properly sized Freedom shield, fangs, and earplugs. The issue with the Heritage is the air coming up from below.... it rides up your chest.... and relentlessly pounds the bottom of the helmet. The bobble head with the stock windscreen was helped with a 19" Freedom Shield, but the hurricane behind the screen persists. For anyone experiencing this, place your forearm across your chest while riding and it quiets down significantly. The turbulence is reduced because your arm is deflecting the air forward away from the bottom of your helmet. I even ordered 2 different helmets from Revzilla and the drumming in the helmet from the turbulence wasn't improved. The only other thing left to try is installing an engine guard and lowers and maybe that might help.
Rode a 21 road glide yesterday and what a difference. On the road glide, you sit further back from the screen and forks so the turbulent air can be felt coming up at mid-thigh vs the waist, so the rough air is in front of the helmet vs under it. The rear suspension on the RG was harsh but I'm seriously considering moving to the RG with a rear suspension upgrade.
I swapped for a taller Clearview shield that has an adjustable vent. Made a big difference.
I just put the black ones from JES on my bike. Haven't had a chance to try them out yet. I wear a modular helmet and never really thought the turbulence was that bad. Freeway riding seems to buffet my pant legs worse than my upper body. Hopefully I'll be able to go for a ride tomorrow and check it out.
I also installed saddlebag guards that came via the slow boat from Milwaukee. The right guard has two pin hole paint defects. I'd normally return them but I waited weeks for these and their website says they are out-of-stock, so I'm just gonna get some touch up paint and not look at them. These covid crap delays suck.
Hi everyone, I just purchased a set of Straight jacket handlebar from KST kustoms and when I tried to fit the handlebars on the stock risers, the clamping area was a bit narrow. Anyone else run into this issue? If so, what was your workaround? New risers? filed down the edges of the clamp area? Any insight is appreciated.
Can u post a pic of rider and passenger seat from the side? I am wondering if teh passenger seat slopes toward the rider like a sundowner pillion does.
