Seems there's a number of aftermarket suppliers out there.

How do you choose one? Throw a dart at a list? I mean, you have to pick one out of the batch. I'd hoped my listed objectives might narrow down providers that target those.

The Combo of DK Intimator Valve and RaceTech springs runs about $800. Looking for a combo like that for street use, not whole new forks assemblies.

Opinion of Ohlins? Spoken of highly for other models.

I've read plenty of posts of people that are happy with Ohlins. I have a buddy that has an Ohlins setup on his FJR and that thing rides like it's telepathic. The brand is less important than proper spring setup, and the ability to fine tune the suspension to your liking. More adjustments = more better. That's why I ended up looking at GP suspension. Their cartridge kit is considered one of the best. It has preload, compression and rebound damping adjustments. GP is also a Penske dealer, and the Penske triple clicker rear shock is one of the few that has low and high speed compression, rebound, preload and height adjustment. Having all those adjustments allow you to fine tune the suspension to do EXACTLY what you want. Also, having one dealer set up springs to your weight is much more convenient than piecing together components.

DK Custom has done a number of comparison studies on the front and rear suspension configurations, you can find their latest info here:
https://www.dkcustomproducts.com/reports.htm

Now, I'm personally a bit disappointed in the lack of detail and data in this latest version of suspension tests. Their earlier reports included different equipment, like Bitubo, and gave more breakdown on their results. Sadly, that's not there any longer. Perhaps if you ask them nicely, they could provide you with copies of their earlier tests and reviews.

In any case, I can say I've found DK to be quite customer friendly and responsive.

Alrighty, for the folks that have the Harley mustache bars-

Has anyone done a drip test- What hits first the Crash bars or the foot boards?
Id like to assume the foot boards but Iv had bad experience with other crash bar manufacturers.

If the above is all good, Id like to know if I have a decent amount of footboard scraping before touching the hard part (crash bar).

I have the Harley mustache bar. Floorboards touch first, I often scrape them in corners.

Inherited my MiL's 2020 Heritage when she passed last fall. Just picked it up a few weeks back and the transformation has begun. It was Definity styled for her and not me but that is all the fun in getting to create something all new and keep her treasured bike in the family.

So, the S&S 2n1 sits low enough for the hard bags/brackets to fit? I'm looking at doing the Hogworkz std hard bags and brackets on my Hydra Glide, and like to know all the options for exhaust that will work with them. I know Bassani seems to be the primary choice, maybe D&D works OK, too; but, be good to know what else works, with the exception of the Short Shots or those downswept pipes, don't like either of those.

Generally, 2nto1 will work as long as it sits below the rear axle. My guy talked with S&S to make sure that was the case. Not a lot of good photos of it on a heritage but the couple I have seen the pipe is well below.
