Ok, mounted and ready to go. They certainly have more of a radius than the originals so I expect them to handle better. Tomorrow I'll take it for a ride.

What did you end up going with and have you had a chance to test ride?

I went with the factory sizes in the Metzler Cruisetec tire. It was very hard to find the front tire but someone here on the forum helped out with that.
Took it out for a ride this past weekend. Bike rode nice and smooth but it was the difference in handling that was the biggest. It leans so much easier now.... I was really impressed. Brought it out to a lonely stretch of highway after about 50 miles of riding and brought it past triple digits and it was a nice solid ride.

Good to know, I'm looking for a low mileage 18 or newer to strip down this winter and customize for a solo bike... Paint, 131 kit etc...
So uh, I tried to see just how fast my bike would go on a straight away today and... I hit the limiter. Kicks in at 120mph.
And my girlfriend says "No wonder you get bad gas milage."
She was on the back? If so she might not want to ride with you in the future
No haha, I don't have that kind of confidence yet.
I don't dare put anyone else's life at risk.
Before I take her on the back of the bike I'm gonna have to find a big parking lot so I can practice and feel how the bike feels with someone on the back.
You might want to look for the "Ride Like a Pro" videos on youtube Fran. Learning slow speed maneuvering is a huge help toward riding with someone on the back (as well as when riding solo). Along with your rider knowing what to do and not do of course. Jerry and his wife both use big baggers to make their videos and she handles hers just as well as he does. And he was the motorcycle cop.

Oh I've actually watched quiet a lot of his videos. Im subbed to him.
At somepoint Im gonna buy his ride like a pro video stuff, and Im already subscribed to ChampU from Yamaha.
I've ridden motorcycles since I was a little kid but this is the first time I've ever ridden something this big and powerful.
