Andres- any issues when full aired down? Id love a 260 on the factory rim (for now). I have the Shotgun Air ride system and the factory 240 and I can limp home with no air in the shock without any rubbing if need be. Same hold true with the 260 from what you can tell?

As far as the Arnott system is concerned, I have no issues fully aired down. Couldnt tell you with the Shotgun Air ride.
260/40 R18 will fit on the stock FLFBS rear rim. It will be more aggressively profiled however.
Go with a 240 if you want to maintain the handling you're used to.
Thanks everyone..... I went with the 240/40 in the end, the tire is plenty wide for me and I'm good with how it handles.
Ok. I know we've had this conversation buried in here somewhere but I'm ready for a new rear tire. I got the Metzler Cruistec for the front and now I need the rear.... What do we say on the size... 240/40 or 260/40? If I go with the 260 does it fit with no issues at all? Anyone got pics of their 260?

yea 260 all day everyday no issues, people fit the 280 with out issue but personally not a fan. 260 increase height a little and allow more lean angle, better handling etc.
Metz 888 260 on mine. Still factory Michelin on front at moment.
Best and easiest mod to improve handling on the Fat Boy, was one of the first things I did wen I bought the bike, same on my Breakout, 260 is the way to go.
Ok, mounted and ready to go. They certainly have more of a radius than the originals so I expect them to handle better. Tomorrow I'll take it for a ride.
Rode this weekend... the Cruisetec's are a big improvement over the Scorchers... not that it rides much different (it is smoother) but the handling is night and day. With the Cruisetec's it's a lot easier to lean the bike, it turns with a lot less effort. It's clearly because of the more rounded profile of both front and rear tires. It was clearly visible when the new and old were side by side.
And call me crazy but it felt better when I hit bumps, like they absorbed the shock better.
