i disassembled my rear turn signal housing and removed my front turn signal housing for powder coating as well. got it all put back together but i'm not sure if i got it back together right. my front turn signals stay on all the time and flash when using the turn signals. my rear turn signals only work for signals and do not stay on all the time. is this right or did i get a wire backwards? i was thinking all the signals stay on all the time.
disregard. found my answer. front are supposed to stay on and the rear do not.

Not sure if there are differences between models, but on my '19 Low Rider, the front turn signals have two-filament bulbs, so the lights are always on (like turning on the parking lights on your car) and then flash on the other filaments for turn indication. I'm pretty sure the rear turn signal lights are only one-filament bulbs, so they are normally dark until flashing. So that sounds like what you describe in your question.
Changing gears.... Does anybody know if I can just swap in the plug-in version for these lights? No, not the Custom Dynamics at $90 a pair, but just the LED 1156 (2-terminal) and 1157 (3 terminal) like these:
You can also have the dealer flash the bike so the rear sigs light when the brake is applied. Every little bit helps...
That's cool! Do any models come with this feature already enabled?
FWIW, I was thinking about rewiring my turn sigs to run two-filament bulbs to run as running lights. Should be trivial to change. Not sure why HD didn't do it in the first place, but then again, HD used antique incandescent bulbs in these bikes. In 2019! WHY?!!!

Only the ones with no center brake light as far as I know. Its actually not as good as in older models, where you could buy a run/brake/turn module that plugged in between the rear light and the main harness and it would give you, as the name suggests, run brake and turn sigs. Now its only brake/turn... There may be aftermarket modules though. Custom Dynamics maybe?

Thanks for looking up the Custom Dynamics solution.
Just installing the 3-terminal style plugs from the front
67800147 SOCKET ASSEMBLY (CALIFORNIA, CANADA, DOMESTIC) 22.99 each
would allow you to make the rears into either running lights or bright with the brake light. So half the price, but a bit of custom wiring to do it.
does the 67800147 socket part, comes with the long wire to connect it to the harness? And also with the little rubber that seals it to the bullet housing?
I've tried buying LED bulbs before and that lip mid way around the LED bulb will prevent it being inserted far enough into the socket. it's possible that some bulbs will work though.
I have a white 21 FLSB and the rear combined turn/brake signals are LED (no brighter than bulb). it looks like the 'new' ones on offer as HD accessories here. this is a PITA as there's no bulb socket. I had eagle lights turn signal LEDs on my FLTRX before and they are BRIGHT!. front signals are twin filament incandescent bulbs on the 21 FLSB and already the turn filament on the right side doesn't work (not a bad bulb)..
anyway don't bother with the weak H-D ones.
any info on acquiring new socket pig tails for the rear would be appreciated. I would purchase a new set of eagle lights in a skinny minute.
