On my FXBB and FXFBS it sits just the same as yours, have no problem with it, also I hardly ever use my rear brake on my bikes, just on my Goldwing for slow cornering.

What does it need to do for you to make it better, more to the outside or higher / lower ?

Where my Bob currently sits. I don't know if it's really considered a street bob anymore.

More to the outside would be preferable.

Maybe you can make or buy a larger footpad and attach it to the pedal like the ones you can buy for a FXSB or so.... they bolted on the existing pedal with a bolt and nut. If in were me
I tig welded a alu piece to it and make it look like oem.

Finally adding my (almost) finished bike

Part list:

Wrinkle derby cover
Defiance shifter peg
Edge cut lever kit
Dominion hand grips
Turn signal extension caps (this is HUGE QoL change)
Orange plug wires
Metal intake manifold (the stock one is plastic )
Igniter cover
Flush fuel cap
Saddlemen Step-up TR
Heinz LED front turn signals
Heinz bikes side license plate
IronOptics radiator shield
Cyclesmiths 12" lanesplitter handlebars
V&H Big Shots Staggered + THORCAT system (so its legal everywhere in Europe , not too loud not too quiet)
FP3
Wunderkind rear turn led signals 3in1
Arlen ness beveled inverted air cleaner + breather mod from DK Customs
BungKing front and rear crash bar (doubles as passenger pegs and highway pegs)
MX Style FloMotosport pegs
Sissy bar from Edward Richie
QuadLock phone mount

I have done roughly 10K miles in the first year (got the bike spring 2020) and I am really satisfied with the bikes. I installed all the parts myself (besides intake manifold - this was done by dealer) with the heavy help of service manual and youtube videos. All work was done in about a month - I never did anything this big before so I took my time to make sure everything is done properly. It took some time to get the proper tuning, due to the modified exhaust, but after few rounds with auto-tune and VH support I got a very nice tune that performs excellently. The seat was super hard, but after ~500 miles it got better and now its broken in and very comfortable even on long rides. It is also comfortable enough for my lady when we riding duo, although we have to stop every two hours or she gets sore

My future plan is to change the tank for the bigger one from FXDR to extend the range of the bike a bit - I already got a dented one and its currently being repaired and painted, so I will do the swap in following months. I am also planning to get a nice leather swing-arm bag, but I have not yet decided on the brand/style. Another possible upgrade would be new mirrors, but the stock ones look reasonable.

Bike in my sig. Pretty much bought it this way. Have added the bags, a bandana on the fork tubes, a ram mount, and am working on fixing some stuff. I do ride it whenever I get the chance to. Don't do the bar scene anymore at all, which sux right now anyway, (tnx covid), but the bike itself is a great ride. The mid controls for me are perfect. Bike came with Big Radius and a K&N, plus a fuel pak. As well as a great saddleman seat.

Heavy Breather
Sig Black Series front and rear signals with smoked lenses (rears not pictured)
LED front headlight
Replaced the gas cap with a Willie G skull cap (not pictured)

Want - New taller apes
Maybe forward controls
