Rode a 14 chieftain last 5 years stage 2 was a great bike but always seemed a bit Japanese, this spring got a new 2018 fat boy 114 for a steal. All I can say is wow does the fatboy haul ***, just v&h slip ons for mods. I can’t imagine stage 2 cams in one. I think the fatboy handles better than the chieftain too, was concerned about the 240 rear, it’s a non issue imo. I will give the suspension travel to the Indian and of course stereo fairing and power windshield but for my bar hopping rides I’m really looking for to the summer. Last Harley I owned was 2009 fatbob, glad to be back these new Harley’s are killer.
Welcome back OP!
My biased opinion, great choice for a bar hopper
Not only I get so many compliments on the bike as it is a beast, but as you stated, it hauls ***!!
I get your statement on some of those Indians having the "metric" feel to them, felt same when I rode my buddy's Dark Horse. Don't get me wrong, great American made bikes, but to me they have a "metric'' feel to them.
