Default Softail slim parts compatibility

What's up guys? Brand new to the forum. Just picked up my 2018 softail slim a couple of months ago and just wondering if anyone knows if the majority of accessories or parts on the triple tree or headlamp area are compatible with the older years of the slims? Thinking of doing a nacelle and would love having the passing lamps but unfortunately pna says not compatible but I have heard it just hadn't been updated thoroughly.

Congratulations on your new Slim!! I love mine!! Definitely a fun bike. I wanted to add a Black headlight visor bezel but it wasn't compatible. My local shop took out 2018 trim and the past years trim with visor to match up, they said it was a no go?

Having owned both old and new Softails I’d say you’re pretty much SOL when it comes to comparability of new to old. The MoCo pretty much threw out everything and started from scratch with the new Softail line. The front end is completely different now and to my eye looks nothing like the previous models to say nothing of looking like the ‘50’s Panhead it pretends to be.

Agree with the above , just bought a new 2019 Softail Slim about four weeks ago . With the totally new design from the ground-up, after market manufacteurs are still behind . It may take a couple of years . I was given a Harley parts catalog by the dealer and there is two sections , one for the Twin Cam Softail and a section for the M8 Softail, the first having very few parts for the new M8 . I did install a Harley crash bar , The quick disconnect windshields will not work, need to buy the detachable type . After market seats , forget that ! Want a new Vance and Hines Slip on muffler , better be happy with the 3" round , the new Slims factory is 3 1/2 " . I think the after market will start producing parts soon enough , I hope ? Also I'am having a set of leather bags made that will fit .
