Is it normal, or as a dealer might say, "they all do that" to smell gas fumes at stops? Does not seem to happen only with a full tank, just seem to often smell them more that I would think is the norm.
I've read some posts of the vent valve being stuck, but unless I know what normal is I can't decide if I have an issue or not.

I had the same issue with my 2018 Softail
I would smell gas when stopped at a red light. I would also see gas dripping while the bike was idling at the left side by the belt guard. Gas only drips when the bike is running. Dealer replaced the fuel pump in and that took care of the issue Harley was aware of this issue.
A guy I know had this and it was something about his vent connection being turned 180 degrees from correct position. Turning around to face the opposite way and re-tightening solved it for him. Sorry Im not more specific but it was just a passing conversation last week. Was a new bike and came installed backwards from the factory.
Several M8's i have been around including my own once exhaust was on them kind of smell 'rich', however my 19 fxbb was having a small leak from the vent hose when fuel was 1/4 or less in the tank. I dropped the pump assembly out and turned the fuel regulator 180 degrees and it stopped completely.
Hey guys the regulator appears to be a perfectly round column shaped with no keyway or other alignment tab. If so, how does rotating it 180 degrees fix this? Is it just a realignment of the o-ring that seals it, and the rotation results in a better seating of the ring?

Question.. are we talking stops while running - or stops after riding and parked?
I notice gas smells when I park my bike in the garage - just figured it was normal.
