Haven't had the opportunity to ride a new Heritage Deluxe yet.
Currently have a 2014 SGS that I like a lot. I'm 64 years old and wondering if the lighter Softail might be a better near future fit for me.
Don't do any real long rides or many overnights anymore. Most rides are 70-200 miles. I do go out for a short ride almost daily as weather permits (Michigan). Average about 5500 miles per season. I enjoy jumping my Harley even if it's only a 3 mile trip to the hardware store.
Thinking the new Softail may be overall easier to balance and back up when I need to. I do find my SGS is very comfortable to ride around on, upgraded bars, corbin, and suspension upgrades helped a lot. My 103 power is more than adequate, so a 107 would be fine. I enjoy a windshield and saddle bags are a must for quick shopping stops.
5' 9" 200 pounds.

Thanks for your opinions!
Exactly the reason I traded my 15 RK in for an 18 Heritage 114. Best move I have ever made. Love it. I am 1 month away from 67, 5'9" 175lbs.

The Heritage and the Deluxe are 2 different models. FWIW, I just traded my 18 FB114 for a new Heritage 114, its my 4th one. This maybe the best all around bike I have owned.
Thanks uncle kebo......for pointing that out. I'm guessing a Heritage Softail Classic would be the version I had in mind.
So how are you guys and gals liking the stock seats, shocks, and handlebars on Classic? ( I'm a solo rider)

Saw several newer softails last week at the dealership, ugly with the button on top of the bags and bottom of the windshield black!
maybe it's just me.

Could be me, I love the windshield bottom being black. I'm indifferent for the button you mention.

I ride mine solo only. The tourpak in the solo position is great. Keeps the bike balanced and provides a great back rest.
Definitely get the 114 engine and have a SE 447 torque cam put in it. This is the first Harley I have ever had with a full 2 year powertrain warranty and all the power I need. A stock 107 is very lame in comparison.
The added power and torque will put a big smile on your face. Don't miss the opportunity to get the cam with the new bike for the full two year warranty.
The stock suspension and handling is great. Other stuff is personal preference.
