Default Zerk fitting?

Can someone please check their 2018+ Softail to see if there is a zerk fitting on the left side of the frame head tune. I have a small threaded hole on the left side of the frame head tune. There is nothing in this hole and I am just wondering if something like a zerk grease fitting should go in the hole. Thanks

Yes it is. But I just looked in the service manual and it doesn't show a zerk fitting. Just wanted to see if anybody can check and see if there is anything in this hole on there on their Softail.

No hole, no zerk. There is a cable clamp on the left side with brake lines in it. Clamp is bolted/screwed on a raised section of the neck.

My 15 touring also didn't have the neck zerk, 11 did.

Yup, you’re now supposed to completely disassemble the front end to put a spoon of grease in the bearings. The MoCo probably saved $.15 per bike and somebody got an “attaboy” for suggesting it.

Just one more example of how they make the bike cheaper for them to build and more expensive to own.

I m sure I saw a YT video whhere a HD tech says that drilling and installing a zerk does nothing except pup grease into the frame tube, and onto the electrical connections, that tells me that it is probably a trick that woked in the "old days" but not on the newer bikes, I thought I saw the head frame tube is "double walled, meaning the zerk hole doesnt even penetrate int the inside tube to where the grease would need to go. Yes, I think the factory does that on pourpose.

I don't think that is for a zerk fitting, on my LR that spot has a bracket that holds the brake lines. The pic is a little blurry but you get the gist of threaded hole, I also replaced the original bolt with an ARP bolt but the use is still the same.
