Dealer has confirmed the build date of my Heritage was prior to the switch over to the updated pump..... argggg...
Cost to install the pump while doing the cam update is an hour or less of labor plus parst. Sounds reasonable.
The labor for open and close the motor for the cam update alone he says is 10-12hrs. Does that sound reasonable??
Hope I hope that someday I have a chance to buy Hulkss and Heatwave a beer or two. It's nice to have peeps here that actually contribute information of value.

I paid 5 at my local dealership (Bull Run H-D in Northern va). Not sure where you are located but I would get another quote for sure.
This is not the first oil pump upgrade. If I recall correctly, there was a significant change made that began getting shipped in new bikes with a build date sometime in October of 2018. Interesting that they are still fiddling with it now.
I don't think I'll upgrade my oil pump unless I see a problem. It's good to remember that the bikes without sumping issues vastly exceed the very small number of bikes with problems. And, throughout the misadventure, sumping problems on softails have been virtually non-existent. You could argue that it is/was a touring model problem. Best of luck getting your bike back whole, Pondscum!
I spoke to the service dept today. Oil pump failure. They are putting in new rings and a new pump. I inquired about the cylinder walls etc and was told all else was in specs. Hoping to get my bike back soon !

I do not have an issue with sumping but a m thinking about having a TQ cam installed. I'm just thinking it might make sense to have the oil pump changes when the dealer is already in the motor... . thinking, thinking... .
Nah, H-D wouldn't go through the expense of engineering, testing, manufacturing/sourcing, updating documentation, publishing a service buliteen, etc.... fo a different pump if there was not a problem would they?????

Sorry to hear about the troubles you are experiencing but am glad the shop is taking care of it. Makes me also think that it will give me some peace of mind to have the updated oil pump installed when I have a cam installed just in case.

Yes, I saw the 12.8 hr. in the service bulletin but I'm uncertain as to how accurate that may be. For one, no diagnostic action is required in my situation, and my experience in the past has shown that many times the actual time can be less then the factory guide line.
