Btw. I’ve had heated gloves & heated grips. Heated grips are so much better I sold the gloves on eBay years ago. That’s why I’m putting the heated grips on my Fatboy.
@Msquad good to know. Ill keep the grips, purchase that H-D electrical connector part and give it a go.Im unfortunately a falcons fan so my Sundays are pretty wide open at this point!! Plenty of time to wrench in the garage.
Only the throttle side is wired for the grips. Left side needs two cables pulled which is a bit of a PITA if doing it on existing bars. Easier on new bars. One cable provides 12V to the left grip (Control) and the other goes to the connector back up to the throttle side. When I installed on my Road King, I didn’t find anything pre-wired other then the throttle side. I had to use the electric accessory kit and pull the 12v up to the nacelle. I’m curious where the pre-existing wiring mentioned is?
I have heated grips and heated gloves, to be honest the heated gloves are way better then the grips because the grips only heat your handpalm and the gloves my complete hand.

interesting, well maybe thats the $120 of labor charge (for internal wired grips) to wire the other side. He said it was $360 labor to run externally wired grips (which I prefer the nostalgia design for) because they have to route more wire. Im going to do it in the next month so Ill report back what I find.

I personally dont like fat, fluffy, heated gloves. Complete obliteration of road feel and your Link to the motorcycle. Heated grips and handguards allow me to ride comfortably in the dead of winter, with my single layer summer gloves.

You are 100% correct, my first heated gloves were fat and fluffy but the ones I have now are not that uncomfortable at all. They have also heated elements across the fingers, are perfect waterproof and
give enough feeling from the road as you call it. They are from a brand called KILIMANJARO WEAR type Storm and I even can use my touchscreen with them. In the wintertime I drive mostly with my
GL1800, it have heated seats and and grips but since I have these gloves I do not use the heating on the grips anymore and rather use the gloves instead.

Always preferred grips, but I'll have to check these out. Thanks!
I just installed my grips on my Sport Glide last night. It wasn't too bad once I did some looking around. I also installed a PDM60 so I can run other things and not have a bunch of pigtails off the battery.
Tips:
- De-pin the cables before you try to feed them
- Remove the gas tank. It's not that hard and saves a lot of aggravation
- Be prepared to look stuff up because the directions suck :-)
